Exciting opportunity – Paid work for the SHSOBU

To help expand its activities, the Executive Council of the SHS OBU is advertising for the paid position of a Database Administrator, on a contract basis. This role is a significant part of the ongoing development of the OBU, continuing to build on its strong relationship with the School and its Old Boys.

The role is focused on updating and expanding the old boy data in the OBU database/CRM and using the CRM to compile data reports and mailing lists for old boy communication, reunions, mentoring and other activities; to process memberships; and to otherwise assist in marketing the OBU and managing relationships with members and the wider old boy community. The database/CRM sits in powerful Microsoft information technology infrastructure and is accessible remotely with appropriate securities: you can work from home, at times that suit you.

The successful applicant will report to the OBU’s Membership Registrar. The applicant will need the ability to learn to operate the database/CRM and good skills in Excel spreadsheet operation. The applicant will be trained by the former administrator, who has stepped down to take up a job related to his university degree, and the service provider who supplied the software package.

It is anticipated the tasks will require around 20 hours per month and will be paid at a rate of $25 per hour. The job suits a university student, ideally one who has been trained with these specialised skills, and is available for an immediate start. Attendance at database/CRM training sessions and other occasional meetings for one hour may be required. Extra work may be available during university breaks.

The role will allow you to understand and grow your hands-on database/CRM/marketing and broader business skills and will look good in your CV.

For specific job description and selection criteria and to submit an application please contact the OBU Membership Registrar, Geoff Andrews email: an53696@bigpond.net.au or phone: 0438 421 886.
