Sydney High School Old Boy, Noel Crellin OAM, Class of 1952, has been active in his local communities from the time he joined Rotary while working as an accountant in Walgett. Now retired to the Southern Highlands, after many years living in Sydney’s North Shore, he continues to contribute to society through his on-going work with Rotary.
Mr Crellin was awarded the OAM for his service to the community, particularly people with disabilities and was awarded Rotary’s highest honour, a Paul Harris Fellow, in 1999.
He was an integral member of the Moss Vale Rotary committee’s development of the Wingecarribee Community Service Centre.
When he recently purchased a Sydney High School Old Boys tie, SHSOBU Vice President, Ross Bowey (74), presented Mr Crellin with his tie. Also in attendance, and acting as official photographer, was fellow Class of 74 Old Boy, Simon Green, now publisher of the Highlife Magazine.
