The Governors Centre Breaks Ground

As many of you know, the OBU have been working very closely with the School on the Governors Centre project for several years. What was formerly a dream to provide a modern and functional space for both SBHS and SGHS to utilise is now becoming a reality. It was a pleasure to watch the first machines enter the School and the work commence. The boys currently attending High are thrilled that they will soon enjoy the facilities provided by all our donors.

The Foundation wishes to thank the extensive number of Old Boys who have donated funds to the Governors Centre. Donations over the past few years have included named bricks for the Wall of Gratitude, named chairs and one-off donations. We are aware that some of you wish to remain anonymous and have made significant donations or bequests to get the project fully funded and underway this year. If you still wish to contribute, you may do so here.

Thanks to our Old Boys who worked so hard to make this project a reality. This includes Paul Almond (1982) who managed an immense load of legal contract work with the NSW Government and sits on the Governors Centre Ltd Board, Geoff Andrews (1963) Chair of the Foundation for so many years, Andrew Bowey (1977) current Chair of the Foundation and member of the GCL Board and Eric Wong (2000) on the Foundation Board.

We are hoping to host some events in the space and provide you all an opportunity to not only visit the old buildings we know anlove, but to experience the new space for future generations of High boys to come.
