Sydney High Old Boys Union - Life Membership
Membership of SHSOBU is open to students, ex-students, teachers, former teachers and parents and guardians of ex-students of Sydney Boys’ High School
• Professional Networking Groups – Old boys can contact and meet with other High old boys in professional networking groups such as finance and business
• Old Boy Directory – Life Members have access to the online Old Boy Directory, making it easy to find and connect with fellow Old Boys across generations, industries and professions. Search by name, year, location or industry to reconnect with classmates, build professional networks, seek or offer mentoring, and make new connections across the Sydney High community.
• Social Networking Groups – Old boys can communicate with their year groups and social interest groups through the OBU’s Facebook-based social networking groups. A closed LinkedIn Group for financial members will be created to facilitate business and employment opportunities.
• Mentoring Program – Old boys and current students can obtain professional and career advice from High old boys in a wide range of university courses, disciplines and professions (including medicine, law, science, engineering, commerce, business, academia and public service)• Reunions – Members have access to information and updates about forthcoming reunions and events.
• The Flying Higher – The regular magazine full of news about old boys, their activities and their achievements in later life
• E-Bulletin – Our e-bulletin is sent to members at least once every month by e-mail. Reports on news and developments within the school family and provides information on social functions, career and networking opportunities organised by the School, its old boys and the GPS OBU Council.
• Life Members receive a specially struck badge.
Life Membership Subscriptions
You may become a Life Member by paying the relevant life membership fee. You then pay no further fees for the rest of your life unless the OBU determines otherwise at a general meeting.
Life membership is $550 for Old Boys
Current Students pay ONLY $480 if paid before graduation.
Senior Life Membership is available at the reduced fee of $250 to all old boys aged 55 and over.
New students pay a reduced $450 at enrolment.
But your membership fee does more than provide access to OBU benefits — it helps strengthen the Sydney High community.
Membership fees support the work of the Old Boys Union, including programs and initiatives that benefit Sydney Boys High School, current students and Old Boys. Your support helps us maintain connections across generations, assist with school and Old Boy activities, provide mentoring and career opportunities, support reunions and networking, and build a strong professional and social network for High alumni.
By becoming a member, you are helping the OBU give back to the School, support the next generation of High boys, and help Old Boys throughout their lives and careers.
